  Burr Pennock , 62, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Bronson Hospital Kalamazoo. Burr was born January 31, 1951 in Battle Creek, the son of Charles and Patricia (VanSyckle) Pennock. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1969 and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in Electrical Engineering. Burr served in the United States Navy from 1974 until 1978 achieving the rank of petty officer. He had a long career as an electrical engineer and plant manager for the aerospace and metals manufacturing industries. Burr enjoyed spending time golfing and fishing. Burr is survived by his mother, Patricia; his wife of 30 years, Lucinda (Deitrick) Pennock; sons, Jacob Pennock of Oakland, CA, Daniel Pennock of Wintson ? Salem, NC and Augustus Pennock stationed with the United States Army in El Paso, TX; brothers, CB Pennock, Chick Pennock and Rob Pennock; sisters, Terry Ann Davis, Kim Wisher, Amber Clifford and Kelly Gibson. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles. A Memorial Gathering will take place from 1 until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home, 2838 Capital Avenue, S.W. Memorial donations may go to Western Michigan University Department of Engineering in memory of Burr Pennock, Walwood Hall, 1903 West Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49008-5403. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
