- June L. Minar, 94, Rome City died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 5:05 p.m. in Northridge Village Nursing Home, Albion.
Mrs. Minar was a 1932 graduate of Kendallville High School. She has lived in Rome City since 1939. She had worked at Swartzlander's Jewelry Store in Kendallville, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Rome City United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Noble County Extension Homemakers, VFW Post 2749 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary, and was a past Worthy Matron of Orange Chapter 232 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born June 20, 1914, in Kendallville to Francis E. and Nettie Mearle (Balliet) Cramer. On August 17, 1939, in Plato she married Stanley B. "Bud" Minar. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1990.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Anna Minar of Kendallville; a daughter and son-in-law, Gaynelle and Ken Crews of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; a grandson, Nicholas Minar; and a sister, Florede Baughman of Kendallville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Waldo Cramer in 1974 and Hugh Cramer in 1980.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Rome City United Methodist Church, Rome City, with Pastor Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Paul Minar, Ken Crews, Nick Minar, Brett Edwards, Kendall Edwards, and Nathan Edwards.
Calling is Monday, March 30, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
Preferred memorials are to the Rome City United Methodist Church or American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary.
