- Patricia Grace Blonde, 83, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday (11-17-2013) at the Community Health Center of Branch County, Coldwater. She was born October 5, 1930 in Clarendon Township MI to Mason and Stella (Smith) Minar. Pat graduated from Litchfield High School in 1949 and worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She also served her community as the Litchfield Township Treasurer for 12 years, Hillsdale County Commissioner for 10 years, and Litchfield BPW Club member. Pat was an active member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church, the UMW, and she served as a church board member.
On December 24, 1949 she married Melvin Gene Blonde, and he preceded her in death Nov. 3, 2013. Survivors include 2 sons, Craig (Allison) Blonde of Homer; Kevin Blonde of Litchfield; 2 grandchildren, Lisa (Dennis) Hart of Fort Wayne IN; Evan Blonde of Homer; step-great-granddaughter, Shannon Brennan; and 3 sisters, Linda Maddock of Rockford IL; Sally Pritchard of Coldwater; Charlotte Hendrickson of Mattewan. In addition to her husband, Pat was preceded in death by her daughter (Carron Houchen) and her sister (Jane Taylor).
Visitation is scheduled Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Litchfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 PM, at the Litchfield United Methodist Church with Reverends Clyde Wonders and Julie Yoder Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
