- Jerry W. Alexander, 84, of Greenville, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Born in Kokomo, Indiana, he was a son of the late Ferrold and Josephine Stanton Alexander. He received his undergraduate from Bob Jones University and his Masters Degree at Appalachian State University and retired from Bob Jones University after teaching from 1957 to 1985. From 1985 to 2001 he served as the Transportation Clerk for Bob Jones University. Mr. Alexander served in the US Army from 1951 - 1952. He was a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; Joyce Sibbersen Alexander and a daughter, Donna (Eddie) Colwell of Tucker, Ga.; a brother, Terry (Wanda) Alexander; sisters, Nancy (Hayden) Porter, Judy Arthur, Jenny (Jim) Schaffer, Penny (Stephen) Bousum and Julie (Gary) Black; and granddaughters, Robin and Katie Colwell. He was predeceased by sons, Timothy and Thomas Alexander and sister, Sally Foster.
Services will be held 11 am Friday in Hampton Park Baptist Church with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday 6 - 8 pm in The Mackey Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Bob Jones University, Hampton Park Baptist Church or The Wilds Christian Camp.
