- Passed away November 1, 2004 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital. Violet was born September 22, 1913 in Delton, the daughter of Art and Edith Collison. Violet retired from the Secretary of State Office in January of 1974 after 19 years of service. After retiring she kept busy painting and sewing quilts, which she displayed and sold at craft shows for over 20 years. On August 23, 1936 she was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Jarman, who preceded her in death March 19, 1978. She is survived by a son, James Jarman of Kalamazoo; a grandson, Christopher Jarman of Kalamazoo; a great-grand-daughter, Sarah Jarman of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. At her request cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements handled by Avink Funeral Home Cremation Society Schoolcraft.
