| Wendell Tolles Tolles, Wendell J. passed away on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on February 9, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the son of Leo and Alice (Carson) Tolles. Wendell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. On June 4, 1954, he was united in marriage to his best friend and fishing partner, Joanne M. Tolles in Kalamazoo. In addition to fishing, Wendell enjoyed traveling with Joanne; camping/fishing at Interlochen State Park for over 50 summers and 23 winters in Florida. He was employed by Kalamazoo Public Schools for over 30 years and was a member of Sunnyside United Methodist. Surviving are two children, Douglas (Robyn) Tolles of Kalamazoo and Diane (Steve) McLeod of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Jessica (Parker) Hornsby and Ian McLeod; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Hornsby; and several cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sunnyside United Methodist Church. |
