- Eleanor Mae King, the daughter of Elmer and Stella (Norland) Frink, was born November 13, 1916 in Armstrong, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Emmetsburg, where she received her education, graduating from Emmetsburg High School.
Eleanor married Russell Braley and to this union was born one son, Craig. The couple later divorced.
She married Harold Stoddard on October 15, 1964 in Nashua, IA. Throughout most of her adult life, she lived in Spencer, Iowa, where she worked as an office manager for Drs. Frink and Schlichtemeier from 1952 until her retirement in 1980.
Harold passed away in 1978.
She married Darrell King in 1979 and throughout their retired life, they enjoyed traveling, golfing and fishing.
Eleanor was a past member of Bethany Lutheran Church and also attended the First Congregational Church in Spencer, where she was active with the church circle. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years.
Eleanor passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the age of 98.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands and one brother, Dr. Lyle Frink.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Craig Braley and his wife, Deirdre of Sugar Land, TX; two grandchildren; one brother, Gary Frink of Emmetsburg, IA; one stepdaughter, Gloria Tingle of Spencer; one stepson, Michael Stoddard and his wife, Ruth of Bloomington, MN; many step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
