- George Burton Moses, 84, of Canton, ascended to Valhalla on Saturday, (March 26, 2005). Born May 29, 1920 in Unionville, son of the late George Lyman and Gertrude (Harris) Moses. A veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, George was an inventor, pilot, scholar, outdoorsman and highly skilled carpenter. His outstanding collection of American antique ironware is on display at the Morris Connecticut Museum. He is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Moses of Canton, Sharon Iles of Haddam and Lucinda Moses of Windsor; and cousins and friends. A graveside service in Greenwood Cemetery, Avon will be at a later date and time to be announced.
