- Beto S. York passed away at St. Joseph?s hospital , Omaha, Saturday, Nov. 22, 1924, after an illness of several weeks.
Beto, as he was familiarly called, was a well-known citizen of this city where he has lived for 36 years. He was an electrician and painter by trade, and was always the one called upon for any hazardous work. He delighted in painting tall buildings, smokestacks and the like. He was a natural mechanic in many ways.
Beto S. York, son of Mrs. A. Sears of this city, was born in Terre Haute, Ind., June 10, 1874 and was just past 50 years of age at the time of his death.
He moved here with his mother in 1888 and has resided here since that time.
He was married to Miss Jennie Oliver at Logan on Aug. 17, 1899, and to this union three children were born: Mrs. Fern Cahill of Paxton, Nebr.; Mrs. Doris Dammann of Paxton, Neb., and Clement of Graf, Neb.
He and his wife were divorced a number of years ago and he was married to Mable Simmons of Omaha, March 19, 1921.
Besides his wife, children, and mother, he leaves one brother, Frank York of this city.
Truly Beto will be missed.
The funeral was held from the Christian church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Victor Johnson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
