  Sarajane Beal died in January 2006 after an extended illness. Sarajane was Page Ahead Children's Literacy Program's first official volunteer and was involved in the book distribution program for almost a decade. Page Ahead bestows annually the Sarajane Beal Award for Volunteer Excellence to honor her service to our mission.
