- Nils C. Anderson, 92, of 58 Ware Point Road, West Brookfield, died Sunday at his home. Born in Springfield, October 31, 1915, son of the late Charles J. & Julia (Erickson) Anderson. Nils had been a resident of West Brookfield since 1938. He was a graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School. He was a claims clerk for American Saw & Manufacturing of East Longmeadow for 25 years, retiring in 1984. Previously he had worked for Westinghouse in Springfield for 25 years. He was a member of the Amherst Railroad Association in Amherst. He enjoyed trains, playing golf & boating on the lakes. His first wife, Muriel (Keyes) Anderson died in 1963. His second wife, Margaret L. (Prescott) Anderson died in 1998. He is predeceased by a son, William W. Anderson Sr., of West Brookfield, who died in 2005. He is survived by one daughter, Christine Anderson Beidleman, with whom he lived. Nils is also survived by his daughter in law, Beverly Anderson of West Brookfield. He was the grandfather of Steven Anderson, Scott Anderson & William W. Anderson Jr., children of Beverly & the late William W. Anderson Sr. & William Burns Jr., son of Christine Anderson Beidleman. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; six nephews & one niece. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service Friday at 1 p.m in Pine Grove Cemetery, West Brookfield. There are no calling hours.
