- Gloria Jean Cordes was born April 9, 1930, in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Frank Panetta and Sarah (Gilbert) Panetta. She entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2015.
Gloria is preceded in death by parents, Frank Panetta and Sarah (Gilbert) Panetta; husband, Edward T. Cordes; and son, Tom Cordes.
Gloria leaves behind children, Fred Cordes and wife, Cheryl; Linda Burns; Eddie Cordes, Kathy Riley and husband, Randall; Helen Clymer and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Andrea Avance, Erin Thomas; Ted Cordes; Joseph Cordes; Kenny Cordes; Kelly Atnip; Brian Riley; Stephanie Blair; and Ashley Deardorff; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Gloria enjoyed a variety of activities, one of which was bowling. She had participated in the sport with many different teams over the years and even played in a few leagues with her daughters. Gloria found interest in oil painting, and knitting. In fact she found great pleasure in making blankets for all her grandchildren. These blankets meant so much to her family, that still to this day, they have old baby blankets that she knitted for them. Gloria also had an interest for travel. Her and her husband had traveled all over the United States. They visited California, Florida, and Massachusetts to name a few places. Gloria was very loved and everyone knew that the most important thing to her was family.
