- George Henry LaPlace entered the Gates of Heaven on July 20 at Middlesex Hospital. George was born December 29, 1944. He attended Vinal Tech and was a tool and die maker for the Lee Company for 31 years. George was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Essex. He was a caring, funny, and generous father, grandfather, and uncle. George is survived by his former wife, Eleanor Susan LaPlace, and his children and their spouses, George Curtis and Cathy LaPlace, Rachel and Daniel Patten, and Sandra LaPlace and Tim Williams, Jr. His grandchildren Hannah Patten and Lillie and Celeste LaPlace. His brother Milton LaPlace and sisters Eunice Tolx and Colleen Traynor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents and four siblings. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 10 Prospect Street, Essex at 7 p.m. on Monday July 25. Gifts in his memory may be donated to Middlesex Hospice and Palliative Care.
