- Elizabeth K. LaPlace, 72, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Middlesex Hospital.
She was born on May 28, 1936, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of George Daniels.
Previously she worked at Saybrook Laundry and Cramer's. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW. She loved going to the casino and playing tickets at the Legion Post.
She is survived by her husband, Robert LaPlace; her nieces, Helen Morgan of Old Lyme and family, Janice and Dick Paradi of New Hampshire, and Karen and John Bean of Centerbrook; and nephew, Thomas Hesselman and his wife, Bonz, and family of Old Lyme.
A celebration of her life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, at the American Legion Post 113 on Essex Road in Old Saybrook.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Wheelchair Ramp Fund, c/o American Legion.
