    • George Louis Froeba, 82, husband of the late Rosanna Rich Froeba of Roanoke Rapids, N,C., passed away on July 3, 2014. He was born on June 14, 1932, in New Britain, Conn., son of George F. and Edith (Galpin) Froeba.
      Survivors include his son, George E. Froeba and his girlfriend Norma Clemmons of Halifax N.C. Two grandchildren, Corena Bristow and Tanya Edmundson (husband-Christopher Edmundson) of Greenville, N.C. Three sisters, Bernice Froeba, Peg Murphey (husband-Frank Murphey) of New Britain, Conn., and Marion Plagemann of Madison, Conn. Nieces and Nephews-Frankie Murphey of New Britain, Conn., and April Kosier (husband-Mike Kosier and their children, Helen and Evelyn) of Delanson, N.Y., Linda Kornhi (husband-Mike) of Pleasant Hill, Ore., and Karl Plagemann of Guilford, Conn.
      He was stationed in Germany in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Stanley Works with 35 years of service and moved to N.C. in 1989 to retire and be in the same place as his son and his son?s family. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in New Britain, Conn., and in Roanoke Rapids, as well as a member of the VFW and the AMVETS.
      Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.
