- MARIE JOYCE DEVLIN: It is with deepest sorrow the family announces the passing of Marie Joyce Devlin on February27, 2013 in her 82nd year."Loving and kind in all her ways,Upright and just to the end of her days Sincere and kind in heart and mind, A beautiful memory she left behind."She leaves her sister Olive (Tilley) McKee of Thunder Bay and was predeceased by parents Edna and William Tilley. Cherished wife of 52 years of Douglas Devlin. Much loved and dearly missed aunt of many nieces, nephews and their children. Marie worked for many years as an executive assistant at Bellows Valvair in Toronto participating in their manufacturing program. After marrying Douglas, they resided in Toronto. Both were active members of the Humber Bay Yacht Club. She was best known for her ability to touch and influence the lives of family and friends. She had a great love for learning, conversation and a deep appreciation for humanity and the arts. After retirement Marie and Doug became summer residents at Riley Lake, Muskoka. Active in the community, Marie was well known for welcoming and entertaining family, friends and passersby. Marie was a patron of the arts from early years in Toronto, being a regular guest at plays, dances and symphonies. She was a philanthropist to many organizations throughout her life. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10., N. of the QEW), on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 3 p.m. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
