- Janice Banning Grieder of Melody Lane, Ivoryton, died Wednesday at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was 61.
She was born in Middletown and was a lifelong resident of Ivoryton.
She is survived by a son, Everett W. Banning of Essex; a daughter, Linda M. Dermody of Ivoryton; two sisters, Barbara Winchester of Old Lyme and Ruth Warner of Queensland, Australia; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, Prospect Street, Essex. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, is in charge of arrangements.
