- Alfred V. "Sam" Ferry 80, of 76 S. Main Street died Wednesday February 14, 1996. He was the husband of Florence E. (Bramble) Ferry and son of the late Manuel and Mary Ferreira. He died at St. Ann's Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Assonet, he was a member of St. Bernard Church and employed by United Merchants of Fall River as a plant manager until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. Ferry was a member of the American Legion Post 425 of Assonet, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of East Freetown, the Senior Citizens of Freetown, the Berkley "Happy Hearts" Senior Citizens and the Lions Club of Freetown.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his widow; a son; two brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 North Main Street Fall River. His funeral will take place on Monday at 8:45 AM with a Funeral Mass in St. Bernard Church, Assonet, at 10 AM. Interment in Assonet Burial Ground, Calling hours Sunday 2-5 PM.
