- Edwin "Jerry" L. Jerome, Jr., 70, of East Granby, beloved husband of Theresa (Barnas) Jerome died suddenly at home, Thursday, (June 11, 2009). Born April 30, 1939 in Northampton, MA, he was the son of Edwin L. Jerome, Sr. of Hadley, MA and the late Miriam (Ferris) Jerome. He has lived in East Granby for the past 56 years. After high school he entered the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. After the war he was employed by Pratt & Whitney for the next 41 years and 7 months before retiring in 2006 where he received multiple awards including the Eagle and Appreciation Award. Jerry was a long time active member at Truth and Freedom Ministry, Windsor and was currently serving as Vice President and Treasurer. He was also the leader of the Thursday night prayer group. In Jerry's free time he refinished trunks, enjoyed fishing, bird watching, travelling to Maine and watching the Boston Red Sox. He also was the former coach of The Farmers softball team. Besides his wife, Theresa, of 35 years he is survived by three sons, Rusty Jerome and his wife, Tiffany of Milwaukee, WI, David Warner and his wife, Pamela of San Diego, CA, Paul Warner of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Kimberly Lingenheld and her husband, David of Bloomfield; two sisters, Marilyn Perry and her husband, Richard of Hadley, MA, Anita Helliewell and her husband, Robert of Palmer, MA; six grandchildren, Clarissa, Daniel, Taylor, Brianna, Sarah and Colton; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, June 16, 1 p.m., at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Truth & Freedom Ministry, 271, Rainbow Rd., Windsor, CT 06095.
