- Ronald K. Sollars Sr., 76, of Baldwinsville, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Ron owned a material handling business for 20 years and retired from P & C Foods after 38 years as the plant maintenance engineer. He owned his own plane that he loved to fly. He also had a passion for restoring vintage John Deere tractors and spending time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by a daughter, Robin Kelly, his parents, and a brother, Donald Sollars. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Carole (Thompson) Sollars; five children, Rhonda Dyer of Houston, TX, Ronald Jr. (Mary) of Clay, Sandra Sollars of Phoenix, Dawn Sollars of Baldwinsville and Carole (Ken) Donhauser of Fulton; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Madelyn of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, at Christ Community Methodist Church, 3474 Stiles Rd. Spring burial will be in Martville Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home, 3700 W. Genesee St.
