  Thomas Field Thomas W. Field, a Greenfield native and resident of Northfield, Maine, passed on Dec. 8, 2013 in Northfield. He was 89 years old. He was born in Greenfield, Nov. 17, 1924, the son of Harold and Florence (Zschau) Field. A 1943 graduate of Deerfield Academy and a veteran of the Pacific Theater in World War II, he studied engineering at the University of Massachusetts and spent his working career as a civil engineer and survey supervisor for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, the former Harriet Smith of Millers Falls, and a grandson, Christopher Mascavage of Greenfield. He is survived by his three children, Suzanne Hamilton and her husband, Bill, of Arlington, MA, Thomas R. and his wife Rebecca of South Pasadena, CA, and Lorrie Mascavage of Greenfield, MA; four granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. Arrangements were under the direction of the Bragdon-Kelly Funeral Home, Machias.
