  Randall Bennett, 76, of 360 Thames St., passed away Aug. 8, 2010, at the Groton Regency. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on July 28, 1934, the son of William E. and Pauline (Fields) Bennett. Randy was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and had worked as the Veterans Administration liaison representative for the Connecticut Department of Labor. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Moose Club. He had been a supernumerary officer with the Groton City Police Department and was a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop 13. He is survived by a son, Kevin Bennett of Groton, three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a son, Corey Bennett. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12 noon on Monday at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton. Byles-Groton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
