- Groton - Kevin R. Bennett, 53, of Groton, passed away Feb. 5, 2012, in Clinton, S.C. He was born in New London, on March 17, 1958, the son of Barbara Bennett of Groton and the late Randall Bennett. Besides his mother, he is survived by a son and two daughters and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Corey Bennett. He graduated from Ledyard High School in the class of 1976. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had been a long distance truck driver for many years. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton. Byles Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
