Notes |
- Fred M. Moreash of Groton passed away on March 17, 2007 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife of 41 years and his family.
Fred was born Feb. 18, 1947 in New London to the late Fred and Ruth Moreash of Mystic.
He married Lorraine A. Mossberg on Jam. 13, 1966 at his parents' home in Mystic.
He was employed by Pfizer from Sept. 19, 1966 to October 2001 when he retired.
Fred enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and family. He was an avid Red Sox fan and freshwater fisherman, enjoying ice fishing the most.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Fred M. Moreash of Hopkinton, R.I., and his wife Wendy; his daughters, Anita D. Moreash of Groton, Elena L. Lockett of Mystic and her husband Bryan, and Patricia A. Santiago of New London and her husband Israel; and his grandchildren, Fred and Heather Moreash, Jacqueline Lockett, and Dominic, Matrix, and Aries Santiago. In addition, Fred is survived by his seven brothers and sisters, Harold Moreash of Ledyard, Edward Moreash of Plainfield, Vera Shaw of Pawcatuck, Anna Mae Bielik of Youngstown, Ohio, Shirley Jones, of Sumpter, S.C., Gladys (Dutchie) Mitchell of Cushing, Maine, and Patricia Young of Cushing, Maine; his godson, Steven Mossberg of Lyme; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his entire family and his dearest friends Boni and Bob McGann, Wanda Lessard, William and Ellie Santiago, Valentino Fazi, Ralph Mayo and Frank Furman.
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by a son, Delaware Paul Moreash.
There will be no calling hours and services will be private for the family.
