Notes |
- Jason A. Lewis, passed away from home, took the holeshot, cleared the triple jump and crossed the finish line into Heaven on February 17, 2014. He was 41 years old.
Jason lived his whole life to the extreme and when he set out to do something, he planned on being the best.
He had an aggressive personality, and early on, he excelled working in sales. It didn't matter if it was a vacuum cleaner or a new car, he would make you want it. Jason had the fortitude to go back to school, earn his diploma, continue on to graduate college, and become a licensed funeral director. This was one of his greatest achievements.
Jason took motocross racing to a whole new level. He always went "all out" and won countless races and titles during his career. He gave his all at 4-wheeler and drag racing too. Jason was a natural at all kinds of fishing- from tarpon fishing Boca Grande Pass, pitching a top-water to a lurking largemouth in the backset, trout on Mad River, mastering the drift on Salmon River, to winning the annual Catfish Derby almost every time- he went looking for the biggest, and usually found it. He loved hunting and everything that was associated with it. Deer hunting the rut in late fall, opening mornings of New York and Pennsylvania, were all so important to him and again, he usually positioned himself in the right spot at the right time.
Above all though, he especially loved his kids and always tried to do the best he could for them.
Jason leaves behind his 3 children, Jeremy, Evan and Rhyan Lewis; his mother and best friend, Betty Ann Lewis; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Neil and Sarrah Lewis, Keith and Crystal Lewis; his grandmother, Harriet Armstrong; his uncle, William Richards; and nieces, Jillian and Autumn.
He joins in heaven his role model and very best friend, his dad, Ronald A. Lewis; also his grandfather, Linden Armstrong; and grandparents, Bob and Betty Richards.
Jason struggled throughout his life with addiction, which caused many hardships with different parts of his life. He lost this battle, but finished the race and won his crown because through all his troubles, he always kept his faith in God.
His family will gather privately at his funeral home, Richards Funeral Home to cherish his memory. In honor of Jason, if you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please seek help now or reach out a hand to someone that needs it. Never give up.
