Notes |
- MANSELL, Madeline (nee Leeds) Passed away at Toronto on April 1, 2013 with her extended family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Fairy Leeds of Dunnville. She is survived by her older brother Vic Leeds of Dunnville, now 96. Maddy was the beloved wife of the late Dick Mansell, mother of Steve Mansell (Debbie) of Harrowsmith, Mary Law (Brian) of Cambridge and Robert (Elizabeth Mitchell) of Toronto. Gran to Mike (Jenna), Geoff (Rebecca), Andy (Laura), Jennifer and Amy. Great-Grandma to the extraordinary Emmett. Through Orillia, Beaconsfield, and Guelph, Maddy and Dick provided a loving home to Robert and their twins. Family was all important to both of them. They always enjoyed times with children and grandchildren, and of course, Gran with Emmett. When Dick was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, no one could have had a more dedicated care giver or tenacious advocate. She loved good food, flowers, a friendly game of bridge and the crosswords. Golf was a passion that she played well into her eighties. Her drives never saw the rough; she never three putted. Her children and grandchildren have all experienced humiliation on the golf course by Gran. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 4. The service will be held at ST. CUTHBERT'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 1399 Bayview Avenue on Friday, April 5 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stephen Lewis Foundation or the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
