- BATH, NY - Adeline L. Stewart, 98, passed away Friday July 21 2006 at the Steuben county Health Care Facility.
She was born in the town of Wheeler on Dec 05 1907, the daughter of the late Florence and Charles Shaut.
Adeline was a member of the Wheeler Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Bath Grange, the Garden Club and the Lakeview Card Club.
Adeline was a hard-working farm girl all her life. After marrying Frank, they lived on Bonny Hill and she devoted her time there caring for him and Katherine. She also became Chief, Cook and bottle washer at Stocking Run dance hall, owned by her and her husband Frank, a retired farmer owned & operated Stock-Run Dance Hall
Adeline is predeceased by her husband, Frank Stewart of 37 years in 1995, her sister, Catherin and Theodore Katner, her brother, Archie Shaut, her granddaughter Jerrilynn Stewart Bates, Great-granddaughter Colleen Huey and sons-in-law Dick Huey and Earl Hardon.
Adeline is survived by her daughters, Katherine Stewart Huey, Laura (Peter) Matlega and a son, Lloyd and Carol Stewart.
Two nephews, who were thought of as her own children, Harold and Clare Katner and 10 children, Norman and Jackie Katner and two children, also the 3 nephews of her other nephew, Theodore and Eilieen Katner, who predeceased her. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Rick (Beverly) Huey, David (Dianne) Huey, Pat (Ralph) Hager, Mary (Danny) Borham, Lloyd (Kristin) Stewart, Linda (Chuck) Rutty, Earl (Barb) Harndon, 15 great- grandchildren, 8-great-great grandchildren; a special little step in great-granddaughter, Corinne Morris.
Calling hours are being observed Monday, July 24, 2006 from 1:00pm to 3 pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath where her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at 10am with Rev Jefferey McDowell officiating.
Burial will be held in Highland Cemetery, Avoca, NY
