  • Notes
    • Carol Mae Weyer, age 86, passed into her new world with Jesus Christ on January 25th, 2011.
She was born in Spokane, WA on December 26th, 1924 and lived in Spokane throughout her childhood, graduating from Lewis and Clark High School. On May 14th, 1948, she married William C. Weyer and began a life dedicated to raising a family. In 1958 with five children, they moved to Ravenswood, WV and there established themselves and remained until all of their children had completed their education. There were many wonderful experiences of cross-country vacations, camping, trips to Myrtle Beach and many other family centered experiences. Carol was a volunteer for Jackson General Hospital and she served as President of the Rosary Altar Society and Church Secretary at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Ravenswood. She was an avid golfer, winning the local Women's Nine Hole Championship twice, and she loved sewing, painting, quilting, craft-making and bird watching. She traveled to many places including Europe and Australia and in her and her husband's retirement years they moved to Spokane and Camano Island, Washington, back to West Virginia and finally to Richmond, TX. These moves enabled them to live near each of their children and grandchildren.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Ernest Murray; two sisters, Barbara Barrett and Gwen Hedeen; and two brothers, Donald and Gordon Murray.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 62 years, William C. Weyer; daughter, Sharon C. Aune of Everett, WA; sons, Thomas E. Weyer and wife, Marci, of Ripley, WV, David A. Weyer and wife, Robin, of Nantong, China, Kevin C. Weyer and wife, Susan, of Richmond, TX, Stephen M. Weyer and wife, Lori, of Moses Lake, WA; grandchildren, Michael Weyer, Julie Aune, Joe Aune, Amy Sawin, Wendy Cox, Jackie Aune, Kristin Carrier, Matthew Weyer, Jason Weyer and Christopher Weyer; fourteen great- grandchildren, Elijah, Ruby, Evelyn, Carson, Grant, Natalie, Karley, Katelyn, Kaleb, Shelby, Kylah, Samantha, Evin and William; along with other family members and many friends.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 29th, 2011 in the Chapel of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Richmond, TX. Internment will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, TX. Father William D. Bartniski will officiate the services.
