- Edward Armstrong was born April 22, 1864, at Birdsall, N. Y. From four to twenty years of age be lived on a farm at Almond. When 25 years old he gave up farming, and went to Sandusky, N. Y., where for several years he worked in the Theodore Hayden woolen mills; later he worked in the Merrill drug and general store at Sandusky.
In 1900 Mr. Armstrong moved to Franklinville, and established a fire insurance agency, which he conducted for five years. He has since spent several years in each of the Ontario Knife Factory, A. W. Kelsey Jewelry store, and W. H. Bates? grocery, and is now employed in the latter. Mr. Armstrong is an active member of the Free Methodist church, and treasurer of the society. He is also treasurer of the Prohibition county committee. In 1887 he married Miss Phina Hyde of Sandusky. They have four children, Floyd E., Mae, Ruth and Clinton.
