| Emily Smith With great sadness, the family of Emily Smith, 73, of Devlin, Ont., announces her passing on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. after a courageous battle with cancer.
Emily was born Aug. 31, 1942 in Emo, Ont. to Jack and Lilly Boldero. She grew up on the family farm in Pattullo.
She was united in marriage to Dean Smith on Aug. 25, 1973.
Emily was a kind, talented lady with a great zest for life. Words cannot describe the love and care she showed to her family and friends.
She had a great love of music, beginning with the piano, then the accordian and eventually the guitar. She was a member of the Clover Valley Echos and played at various events around Rainy River District, where she continued to expand her circle of friends.
Emily will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debbie (Mike) Mulholland of Windsor, Ont., Dale (Lorilee) Smith of Crozier, Ont., Jim of Devlin, Ont., and Shelly (Ben) Janzen of Ridgetown, Ont.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her brother, Bryan Boldero (Marlene); sisters, Dorothy (Steve) Gerley and Kathy (Albert) Leek; uncles, Robert Brown and Lawrence (Maxine) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emily was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Lilly; husband, Dean (2015); and brother, John.
At Emily?s request, cremation has taken place.
A private family gathering and interment will be held at a later date. |
