- Dorothy A. (Mader) Babcock, 81, of 224 Park St., Marinette, passed away Monday evening, July 4, 2005, at her home. She was born September 6, 1923, in Appleton, WI, to the late Gilbert and Esther (Williams) Mader, spending her early years there. She was a 1941 graduate of Appleton High School and a 1945 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had resided in Marinette since accepting a teaching position here in 1945, marrying Harry L. Babcock in 1948.
Dorothy is survived by her children and grandchildren: Arthur (Deborah) Babcock and their children: Elisabeth, Esther (Scott), Rebekah (Eric), Ruth, David, Daniel, Anna, Andrew, Mary, Majesty, Stephen and Seth, Richard Babcock and significant others, Mary, Vika and Nastya, Barbara (David) Nielsen and their children: Matt, Amanda and Tyler; Susan (Jeffrey) LaFortune and their children: Kristin and Rochelle, and Sandra (Jay) Walters, and their children: Erin, Adam and Michael. She is further survived by two brothers: Charles (Norma) Mader of Oshkosh and Marvin (Peggy) Mader of Pewaukee.
Friends may call at First United Methodist Church, Marinette, after 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the church with the Rev. Susan Holley officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
