- Mildred Estella Hasselman, 93, former resident of Gladwyne from 1968 thru 1996, then relocated to Sanibel, FL passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018. She was born April 25, 1925 in Brownville, NY to the late Earnest and Maybel Schaber. A graduate of BrownvilleGlen Park High School and Watertown School of Commerce. After graduating she relocated to New York City where she worked for the Port of Embarkation and New York Central Railroad where she met her eventual husband. Mildred was devoted wife of 64 years, a loving mother to her two children and their grandchildren, an outstanding homemaker, a gifted seamstress, handcrafter, and decorator. She was a committed volunteer at her church, as a Cub Scout Den Leader, and at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Recreationally she bowled in several leagues, was an avid golfer, and a member of Philadelphia Country Club and later the Dunes Golf Club in Sanibel. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and the outdoors. After Mildred relocated to Sanibel, FL in 1996 she became a parishioner of St. Isabel Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She is survived by loving husband of 64 years, Richard B. ?Dick? Hasselman; and sons, Richard (Wendy) of Fullerton, CA and James (Amy) of Ardmore, PA, Grandchildren James and Kristin, Greatgrandchildren Brianna and Alessandro.
