- Floyd Allen Teachout Jr., Lansing, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 91. Born January 24, 1930 to Floyd and Ruth Teachout Sr. in Hastings, Michigan. Floyd was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School class of 1949. He went on to work for General Motors where he would later retire as a driver. Floyd enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He played many rounds and his favorite local courses in Chisolm Hills and Bonnie View. He fished all over but spent many days fishing Six Lakes where he used to live and Town Line Lake. Floyd also enjoyed playing cards, marbles and doing puzzles. He was a member of Capitol City Baptist Church in Holt for many years. Floyd will be missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his son, Randy Teachout; sister, Dorothy Wymer; brother, Robert Teachout as well as his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Teachout; sons, Floyd Teachout III, Robert (Janet Skole) Teachout, Ronald Teachout; daughter, Ronda (Tadd) LaDuke; grandchildren, Jason (Trish) Townsend, Chad Teachout, Cortnie Teachout, Kyle Teachout, Marissa Teachout, Ryan Dykstra, Zachary (Courtney) Teachout; 9 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Capitol City Baptist Church in Holt. Family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at East Lawn Memory Gardens. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Floyd's name.
