- Robert A. Parsons Grand Ledge Mr. Robert A. Parsons, 81, our beloved and devoted father, grandfather and friend passed away with his family beside him on January 16, 2012. Robert was born April 29, 1930 in Ionia, MI, son of Newton and Elise (Loveless) Parsons. He was a retired employee of Fisher Body; a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army, and also a member of the Crossroads Community Church. He loved to eat at Sophia's; enjoyed building clocks, and had the greatest sense of humor. Survivors include his daughters: Roxanne Rappuhn of Grand Ledge, Melinda (David) Soule of Greenville and Pamela (Wayne Stine) Carpenter of Vermontville, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Norma (2009), son Manley Parsons (2009), daughter Theresa Parsons (2006), grandson Bradley Rappuhn (2010), 4 brothers and 4 sisters. A special thank you to granddaughter Emily, sister-in-law Marion Teachout and stray-daughter Angie (Jason) Stevens. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012 - 11:00 a.m. at the Crossroads Community Church, 13940 S. Grange Rd., Eagle, MI 48822. Military Honors will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Bradley Rappuhn Memorial Fund or the Crossroads Community Church.
