- NICHOLS, Carol Ruth (nee SLADE)
Born in Toronto on December 24th 1943, and named Carol by her loving parents for being a Christmas baby. Passed away May 8th 2016 on Mother's day after a courageous battle at the Scarborough General Hospital at the age of 72 years with family by her side.
Loving daughter of the late Charles Slade and Loretta (nee Allaway), formerly married to the late Jim Nichols.
Loving Mother of Sharon (Mike), Aaron (Susan), Brian (Moira), and Andrea. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Ian, Adam (Kelsey), Amelia, Eric, Rebecca, Ashley, and James. A heartfelt thanks to Sharon who always cared for her needs.
Loving sister of Barbara (late Garney) Ramsay and brother Bern (Nancy) Slade and sister-in-law Donna Chard. Carol is predeceased by her sister Bernice (and Grant) Black, her brother Harold (and Betty) Slade and her brother Ken Slade. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins in sorrow. Lovingly remembered by her cousin Sharon James from the U.K.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Scarborough General Hospital who cared for Carol in her final days.
Carol's final resting place will be with her parents Charles and Loretta at St. John's Norway Cemetery in Toronto.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial to celebrate Carol's life, it will be held on Sunday June 5th 2016 at 3PM at Guildwood Community Presbyterian Church, 140 Guildwood Parkway, Scarborough Ontario, the celebration will be immediately followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
