- James A Clendening, age 77, a resident of Danbury, passed away October 13, 2006 while visiting his daughter, Cheryl, at Lake In The Hills, IL.
Funeral services were October 19, 2006 at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster with Pastor Cindy Glocke officiating. Casketbearers were Mick Bruss, Andy Johnson, Don Hansen, Cap Carpenter, Roger Christopherson, and Sonny Lunsman. Honorary bearers were Sonny Bradshaw, Harris Hills, Kenny Carlson, Roger Garberg and Doug Smiley. Interment was at the Danbury Cemetery.
James was born January 30, 1929 in Danbury to Cody and Pauline (Glassauer) Clendening. James attended Danbury Schools. He was in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for Gump Johnson as a crane operator for years, as well as heavy construction for other companies. James retired in 1991.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, repairing and building just about anything.
James is survived by his children, Boone (Joleen) Clendening, Danbury; Cheryl (Ted) Lewis, Lake In The Hills, IL.; and Marty Clendening, Danbury; grandchildren, Gwen, Heather, Jennie Jo, Amanda, Jenna, Joe and Ally; sisters, Evelyn Smiley, Danbury, and Pauline Kingsley, Centerville, Va.; other realatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob Clendening and Ed Clendening; and good friend and mother of their children, Marilyn Clendening.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home of Webster.
