Joan was born in Elgin, Manitoba on February 6th, 1936, as a young lady the family moved to Brandon Manitoba where she continued in her schooling and was a participant in several sports and became a pitcher in softball at a high level. In 1953 she married Patrick (Pat) McNeill; in the mid 50?s Dad joined the PPCLI and they moved to Victoria B.C. for 6 years. When dad left the Army in the early 1960?s we moved to the land of promise in Edmonton.
Over the years Mom spent many years working at Woodward?s and looking after the family. When she retired, she jumped at the opportunity to support the Cross-Cancer Hospital as a volunteer for many years where she loved to go and meet other volunteers and patients. Mom was always surrounded by her family and she loved everyone with equal attention and caring, she always had an interest in what we were doing and had great pride in our accomplishments. We will miss her deeply.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember Joan are encouraged to make a donation, in her memory to the Centre for Autism, Edmonton at centreforautism.ab.ca
