Notes |
- LOUGH, Margaret (May 19 1935 - December 2 2021)
Margaret Lough (nee Kent), passed away peacefully in Cumberland, Ontario in her 86th year. She was born in Scotsburn/Pictou, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Robert and Mable Kent and was raised in Stewiacke. In her youth she was very active in the 4-H Club. After working for the Credit Union in Truro, she moved to Ottawa to work for the CAA and eventually the Canadian Government. In Ottawa she met and married Melvin Lough. They built a home in Cumberland, ON and lived there for many years. Margaret loved to garden and spent many happy hours working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved animals and over the years she adopted a number of dogs. Her church meant a lot to her and when she was well she was active in the church helping out with their church suppers. She is predeceased by her husband Mel, her brother Sandy Kent and her sister-in-law Sandra Kent (Currie) from Stewiacke, NS, her nephews-in-law Jeremy Dares, NS and Richard Cormier, NS. She is survived by her brother, Gordon Kent (Sue) of Halifax, and sister, Helen (nee Kent) Buell (Stan) of Stratford, PEI, nieces, Lisa, Patricia, Amanda and Tracey (Mark), nephew, Michael Kent (Andrea). Thank you to the Health Care Workers who looked after her at the Portobello Residence. A very special thank you to Rick Summers who was so kind to her and became her "Guardian Angel". Family and friends may gather for the Graveside Service at Dale's Cemetery 2960 Old Montreal Road, Cumberland, ON, K1Y 1A7 on Wednesday, December 8 at 11A.M. In Memoriam donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
