At the GWM Hospital, Perth, on Monday, January 10, 1972, there passed to eternal rest John Percival Cameron, in his 79th year.
John Cameron, born March 20, 1893, at Wemyss, was the eldest son of the late William J. Cameron and his wife, Mary Thompson. In 1921 he moved from his birthplace to the "old homestead" where he took up residence with his former wife, Eva Rae Rutherford, who predeceased him in 1922. On March 1, 1929, he married Isobel D. Palmer who survives with a son, Allan, of Scarborough, and a daughter, Marion, of Belleville.
Of a family of six, three survive, Stuart of Balderson, Kenneth of Harper and Margaret of Belleville. Two brothers predeceased him. Ray in 1958 and Walton in 1971.
Upon retiring from farming, the late Mr. Cameron moved to the village of Wemyss where he continued to do carpentry.
He was a member of Calvin United Church, acting as elder for several years.
Funeral service was conducted by Mr. Isner of Calvin United Church, from Blair and Son Chanpel with interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Perth.
Friends acting as pallbearers were Harold Blair, Arthur Bowes, Tom Brady, Tom Cameron, Jim Rutherford and Jim Gamble.
