| Donald F. Boddy Donald F. Boddy
Former Oak Harbor resident Donald F. Boddy passed away in Kingman, Ariz., Jan. 25, 2008.
He was born at home in Hunts Point, near Bellevue, Wash. He attended South Kitsap High School and joined the Navy at age 16, after Pearl Harbor, and fought during WWII.
After discharge, he went into the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard apprentice program where he graduated as a pipe-fitter. He also worked in the design department.
He left PSNS and joined the Navy Seabees. He later transferred to the Air Force and served in Vietnam.
He retired from the Air Force and worked for the federal government as a management analyst.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, black powder and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Lois of Kingman; son Donald F. Boddy Jr., Belfair; daughters Diana Tietz, Camarillo, Calif., and Karen Calhoun, Las Vegas; and sister Joanne Petersen of Oak Harbor. He had four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his father Francis Boddy, mother Ferne Boddy and brothers Dick Boddy and Roger Boddy.
Services are pending in Kingman, Ariz. |
