BRANCHFLOWER, Donald James On Sunday, May 9, 2004 Donald James Branchflower passed away peacefully, 10 days short of his 77th birthday. Don is sadly missed by his children, Vicki Kapoor (Anil), David Lalonde (Jeong Ae), Donna McColl (Duncan) and Doug Branchflower as well as his grandchildren Adia and Raj Kapoor and Logan, Hunter and Aidan McColl. Don also leaves behind one sister, Cora Gomme, brother Clifford Branchflower (Ruth), and sisters-in-law Lucy Walker and Audrey Hawn and many nieces, nephews and friends. Don was predeceased by his wife Thelma in 1977 as well as numerous beloved siblings and in-laws. Don's quiet humor and inner strength have touched many people. Family and friends wishing to share remembrances are invited to gather on Saturday, May 15 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at City Arts Centre, 10943 - 84 Avenue, Edmonton. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Don will be interred with Thelma at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, within earshot of train whistles and duck ponds. The family extends special thanks to the caring staff of 4th floor, Angus McGugan Pavillion, Capital Care Norwood and to his fellow residents, all of whom helped create a home for our Dad for 17 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta. Foster & McGarvey Limited, Funeral Directors and Licensed Crematorium, 428-6666. Owned & operated by the McGarvey Family since 1929.
