    DONALD JOHN STEWART
    May 7, 1957 - March 14, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Don at home surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his father Charlie in 2008. Left to mourn are his wife Heather; son Jeffrey; daughter Grace; mother and father-in-law, Bruce and Darlene Corbett; mother Irene; sisters, Shirley and Lorraine Stewart; brother-in-law Bill Corbett and Cyndy; nieces, Vanessa Stewart, Cassie Corbett and Olivia Tabin; nephews, Brock and Brett Corbett, Cameron Stewart and Keegan and Riley Tabin. Don was a fourth generation farmer in Lilyfield and cherished his home, the land and most of all working with his Dad and family. Don had many friends and remained a true gentleman during the most challenging of circumstances. His extraordinary bravery and character will forever be a source of inspiration to all. He was warm, quick witted, a welcoming host, an amazing Dad and husband and everybody's favourite uncle. Nobody was ever in trouble on Uncle Don's watch. He absolutely loved to entertain his family and friends. Don Stewart was special. Many thanks to Dr. John Bracken, Dr. Frank Renouf, Dr. Paul Daeninck and especially Vivian Heller who provided Don and his family with care and compassion beyond expectation for which they will be eternally grateful. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children, 633 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A8. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
