Notes |
- Mrs. Rebecca Diane Shelley Pretty, age 74, lost her hard-fought battle to lung cancer on July 1, 2019. She lived in Sturgis, Michigan before moving to Cedartown, Georgia 10 years ago.
She was born in Dallas, Georgia on November 1, 1944 a daughter of the late Hall Hutchins and Ethel Mae Wyre Shelley. Diane owned her own beauty shop and was a hairdresser for many years before retiring. She enjoyed spending most of her time with her beautiful family and her fur babies, Gypsy and Gracie, which made her the happiest in life. She was a dedicated Christian and had a close personal relationship with God. While in Sturgis she attended The Church of the Nazarene. When she moved to Cedartown she attended The Second Baptist Church. Diane had a very close relationship with her three children and her four grandchildren. She also found many people, from both churches, whom she had long time friendships. Diane was a very, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. She touched many lives along the way. She loved life!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Angela Shelley.
Survivors include her husband George P. Pretty of Cedartown; daughters and son in laws,
Shelley and Jeff Londry of Cedartown, Cathy and Scott Hoag of Murfreesboro, TN; son and daughter in law, James and Jessica Pretty of North Fort Myers, FL; granddaughters, Elizabeth Pretty of Kalamazoo, MI and Chelsea Griffis of Indiana; grandsons Brayden Hoag and Cameron Hoag both of Murfreesboro, TN; great Granddaughter, Isabella of Indiana; her sweet cousins Paula Atkins and Alice Brown both of Cedartown and her very best friend for many many years, Betty Caba of Sturgis, MI.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Rebecca Diane Shelley Pretty will be held at a later date.
The Smith & Miller Funeral Home of Cedartown is honored to serve the family of Rebecca Diane Pretty.
