Mrs. Dora I. Jecks, 84, of 3224 16th ave., Rock Island, Ill., died Tuesday, Mar. 27, in the Americana Nursing home, Moline.
Born in Crystal Lake on Sept. 4, 1888, she was the daughter of Thomas and Caroline Willard Grantham. She was educated in Crystal Lake and was married to Ellis P. Jecks in 1909. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1970.
Mrs. Jecks lived in Cary from 1924-1940. During that time she owned and operated a dairy and was a chief telephone operator. She was a member of the Cary Woman's club and maintained her membership in the Cary United Methodist church through the years. In 1942 she moved to Rock Island.
She was a member and past worthy matron of Algonquin O.E.S. No. 752.
Survivors are two sons, Lyle P. of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Willard T. of Rock Island; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Crystal Lake at the Union cemetary. A funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Friday at the Larsen Funeral home, Rock Island.
