Thomas Sittler, 22, of 114 Union St. East, Waterloo died yesterday in K-W Hospital of injuries received when his car went out of control and struck two trees.
He suffered a fractured skull, face cuts and chest injuries. He was driving on Union Boulevard shortly after midnight when the accident occurred. He was Kitchener's second traffic victim of the year.
Mr. Sittler was born in St. Jacobs Jan. 30, 1941, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Sittler. He moved to Waterloo three years ago and was employed as a stock clerk at Lackie Brothers Ltd.
He was a member of Holy Saviour Anglican Church, Waterloo and the Sundown Horseshoe Association.
Mr. Sittler was returning from a horseshoe competition at Three Bridges when the accident took place.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Clayfield, whom he married in Waterloo Sept. 16, 1961; three brothers, Charles of Kitchener, Kenneth of St. Jacobs, Joseph of Shilo, Man; seven sisters, Mrs. Jerome (Mary) Bergman of Hiedelberg, Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Batley of Peterborough, Mrs. Mahion (Joy) Snyder of St. Jacobs, Mrs. Elmer (Clementine) Hill of RR 1, Waterloo, Mrs. Allan (Ruby) Madgett of Waterloo, Anne of Toronto, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Blum of Kitchener. One brother predeceased him.
The body will be at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, after 8 p.m. tonight. Service will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 2 P.m. by Rev. Denton Masséy. Burial will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery. |
