 | Gordon Rintoul Gordon E. Rintoul of West Bloomfield was born in Melvindale, Michigan on July 16, 1926 to George G. and Hildegarde P. (nee: Becker) Rintoul and died October 23, 2010 in Farmington Hills at age 84.
He is the beloved husband of 27 years to Naomi.
Loving father of Gordon Rintoul and the late Steven Rintoul.
Step father of Robert (Carol Gibson) Smith, Stephen Smith, Patty (Butch) Milkovich, and Edward (Cindy) Smith.
Grandfather of Rachel, Melissa (William), Kristina, Matthew, Benjamin, Jacob and Tori.
Great grandfather of Nathan and Anna.
Brother of Pauline (the late Maurice) Stoughten.
Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rintoul was a decorated WWII Army Veteran having served in the Blood and Fire 63rd Infantry Division of the 255th Infantry Regiment. He was a Bronze Star recipient and also earned the Central Europe Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon (with One Bronze Battle Star), 2 Overseas Service Bars, the Army of Occupation Medal Germany, and the Good Conduct Medal. Before entering the military Mr. Rintoul started his working career as an Ice Delivery Man and later worked at Ford Motor Company as a mechanic and group leader in the experimental garage. He was a longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Walled Lake where he was active in the Prime Timers Group. He was also and avid gardener and loved flowers.
Funeral from St. Matthew Lutheran Church 2040 South Commerce Rd. Walled Lake, Wednesday 10:30 AM (in state 9:30 AM). Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 340 Pontiac Trail Walled Lake (3 Blks. S. of Maple Rd.) Tuesday 3-8 PM. Memorials to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Lutheran Child and Family Services appreciated. |
