    Lionel George Shorter It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Lionel passed away peacefully at the Davidson Health Centre on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the age of 81. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter, Lana, her husband, Terry and granddaughters, Rachel and Randi Johnsson; his son, Bob, his wife, Cindy, granddaughter, Lynnelle and grandson, Kyle Shorter; his brother, Claire (Marie) Shorter and family; brother-in-law, Arnold (Donna) Bair and family; nephew, Bill and Alice Kriston and family; also mourned by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Lionel was born on March 20, 1925 on the farm at Macrorie, SK to George and Iva Shorter. Shortly after that the family moved to Meskanaw, SK. Lionel made his home at Meskanaw until the summer of 2004 when he moved to Davidson to live with his daughter and family due to health problems. Lionel married Lorraine Hourie on April 29, 1953. Lionel first worked as a ranch hand before he began his long career as a cat and grader operator working in the surrounding RM's. He also worked for Gary Taylor building roads and doing the work he loved and was good at. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and trapping, reading and visiting with relatives and friends. Many stories were told and retold, and words of advice were shared over several cups of strong coffee at Dad's place. Till memory fades and life departs, you'll live forever in our hearts. The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Meskanaw Community Hall with Rev. Father Chris Harper officiating. Interment will take place at the Meskanaw Cemetery next to Mom. Memorial donations may be made to the Meskanaw Community Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.     Cecil J Pretty, 81, of Shepherdsville, KY passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019. Originally from Niagara Falls, Canada was born on June 8, 1938.
    Cecil was a Sgt in the Canadian Air Force where he taught aircraft mechanics. Cecil retired from the Air Force shortly before moving to Louisville, KY in 1980. Cecil settled right in holding a couple of positions before landing a long-term career as a service technician for Air Systems in Louisville.
    Cecil was a dedicated servant to others and an avid supporter of the Loyal Order of the Moose, where he served 3 terms as Governor and was the current Administrator upon his passing. Cecil was just awarded the coveted Pilgrim Degree, the highest level of attainment for volunteers in the international organization. Less than 1% of all Moose members achieve this distinction. His sense of pride and happiness over earning his ?yellow jacket? will live on. Cecil was also a member of the Honorable Order of KY Colonels and supported many local charities.
    Cecil was known for his love of music all his life. He was the lead singer of a band in the 70?s and 80?s in Canada and it was not uncommon for his guitar to break out during family gatherings. His karaoke skills were in high demand on Thursday nights along with his love of a good two step on the dance floor. Cecil was a true friend to all that knew him and his smile and gentle affection towards others was contagious and will be sorely missed.
    Cecil was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Boone; his father, Cecil Pretty; his brother, Mike Pretty and dear nephew Christopher Cuillerier.
    Cecil is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judy Pretty; daughters, Lena Lucas (Mike); Teresa Marsala (Len); Donna Paulin (Tony); Laura Howard (Kevin); his son, Charlie Hall (Tina) and his sister Carolyn Cuillerier. He also leaves behind 10 beloved grandchildren to cherish his memory; Kyle, Justin, Julia, Ryan, Mitchell, Andreas, Emily, Lauren, Shelby and Sam.
    Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Arch L Heady at Resthaven. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 3pm-8pm and Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 10am-12noon with funeral service to follow at the funeral home at 12noon.

Dear father of Michael (Sandy), Mark (Pauline) and Mollie (Jonathon) Lee. Cherished grandfather and Papa of Robert (Jessi), Andrew, Abbie, Landon and Ella.
