    BENZONIA ? Frances Case died peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter, Sara F. Gipson, on April 12, 2007. She was 103.
    Frances was born in Orangeville, Barry County, Michigan, on Aug. 29, 1903, the daughter of William "Bert" Brown and Addie Brown (nee Scott). Her three brothers, Carl, Louis and Harold all preceded her in death.
    In 1931, Frances married Louis Case of Benzonia, and he died in 1985. Their two children, Sara F. Gipson of Benzonia and Louis Case of Ann Arbor both survive, as do her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Frances taught in the Michigan public schools for a total of 40 years, and she and Louis owned and operated Case's Dairy Bar and Restaurant on US 31 in Beulah from 1949 to 1969.
    A memorial service will be held at the Benzonia Congregational Church at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 27, followed by an open house on Saturday, July 28, at 2 p.m., at 1523 Case Road, Benzonia, where a gathering of the clans and friends will celebrate Frances' life, as well as a golden wedding, summer birthdays and a Sunday wedding. All are welcome!
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Benzonia Congregational Church.
    The Benzonia Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.
