    Marilyn L. Pettit, 72, of W. Bush Road, passed away Tuesday evening at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with her loving family at her side.
    Born November 28, 1940, in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Violet Rulison Woodcock. She was a lifelong Gloversville resident and attended local schools.
    Marilyn was employed by the Johnstown Knitting Company for a number of years.
    She loved shopping, cross word puzzles, cookouts, camping and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her puppies.
    On September 29, 1957 she married Charles B. Pettit, Jr. Besides being survived by her husband of 57 years, survivors include three sons, Charles B. Pettit III Sherry, Brian S. Pettit, Sr. Shelley and Luke E. Pettit Sara all of Gloversville; two daughters, Wendy S. Davis Larry LaPorte of Fort Johnson and Amy V. Squillace Jason of Amsterdam; two sisters, Irene Chamberlain of Gloversville and Marlene Young of Bleecker; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her siblings Clarence Richards, Allen Woodcock, Helen Romain, Betty VanSkiver and Loretta Pratt.
    It was Marilyn's request that a private graveside service be held at the convenience of the family at the Gansevoort Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's memory to a charity of one's choice.

    Marilyn married Charles B. Petit on 29 Sep 1957. Charles (son of Charles Bertrum Petit and Marion M. DeLong) was born in 1939 in New York, USA; was buried in Gansevoort Cemetery, Gansevoort, Saratoga County, New York, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
