    Dorothy Doyle Weinberg, 96, of Drozdyk Drive in Groton, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.
    A lifelong resident of the area, Dottie was born on Sept. 30, 1910 in Groton, the daughter of James J. and Lucy Phelps Doyle.
    Mrs. Weinberg was married to the late Saul Weinberg in Groton on Oct. 6, 1934. Saul died on Jan. 26, 1996.
    Known as "Dottie" to everyone, she was active for many years in the local bowling community, having served as secretary for the Southeastern Connecticut Junior Bowling Assoc., for over 10 yrs. A certified instructor for junior bowlers, she ran numerous kids' leagues and tournaments at local bowling centers. Her love of the game of bowling continued long after having to hang up her shoes. Dottie was also a life long Red Sox fan, never missing a game.
    In her later years, despite being almost totally blind, she knitted thousands of winter hats each year to donate to kids through local organizations.
    Dottie was a very generous and kind person, always quick with a joke; she will be missed by all who knew her.
    She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife, Laurie, of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Isabell Adams and Lucy Doyle, sister-in-law, Jane Doyle and niece, Ann Stanton all of Groton; her grandchildren, Robert Jr. from Farmington, Randy from New London and Chelsea from Tampa; great-grandchildren, Amber and Christopher, from Mashantucket, and Tyler, Ryan and Jake from Farmington.
    Dottie had also been predeceased by her brothers, Howard and Fred as well as her sisters, Alice Teuton, Elsie Noyce and Viola Doyle.
    Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at the Starr Hill Cemetery, Lestertown Road in Groton. Byles- Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. is in charge of arrangements.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may go to either the TVCCA- Meals on Wheels or the charity of the donor's choice.

    ISABELL L. ADAMS, 103 of Groton passed away on Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at the Groton Regency. She was born in Groton on October 29, 1914 the daughter of James and Lucy Doyle. She was married to the love of her life, William A. Adams, Sr. who referred to her as his queen, on August 20, 1936. William passed away on April 24, 2006. They had 30 years of retirement together, travelling throughout Europe and the US. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She especially loved entertaining, being around her family and travelling to Pennsylvania with her sisters each year. Isabell was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Groton. She is survived by her son, William A. Adams, Jr and his wife Patricia of Westerly, RI, a daughter Barbara Robinson of San Diego, CA, her sister, Lucy Doyle of Groton, four grandchildren, Sheryl, Kristin, William III and Debbie and four great grandchildren, Chelsae, Ryan, Tiana and Jaime, and two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Groton Regency especially the staff on C wing for the care given to Isabell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 o?clock at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Sacred Heart Dr, Groton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 7 o?clock at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 301 Thames St. Donations in her memory may be directed to the Groton Regency, 1145 Poquonnock Road, Groton, CT 06340.

    Frederick James Doyle Sr., 79, of 91 Buddington Road, Groton, died Monday morning, Dec. 27, 2004, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London with his family by his side.
    He was born in Groton on Oct. 5, 1925, the son of James J. and Lucy Phelps Doyle.
    He married Jane Murray of Groton in August of 1948.
    Mr. Doyle served in the Navy during World War II.
    He was a carpenter in the engineering department at Pfizer in Groton retiring in 1983 after 32 years of service.
    He attended Fitch Senior High School where he had been active in sports. He played in the Groton Fast Pitch Softball League in the 40's and had been a coach in the Poquonnock Bridge Little League.
    In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Theodore W., of Groton, and Frederick J. Doyle Jr., of Colchester; three daughters, Elizabeth Walrath and Ruth Trombino, both of Westerly, and Jean Benoit, of Norwich; four sisters, Viola and Lucy Doyle, Dorothy Weinberg and Isabell Adams, all of Groton; 11grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Doyle, a brother, Howard Doyle, sisters, Elsie Noyce and Alice Teuton, and a grandson, Adam Trombino.
    A graveside service will be Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in Starr Burying Ground, Lester Town Road, Groton.
    Donations in his memory may be directed to the Adam Trombino Memorial Fund, 12 Old Hopkinton Rd., Westerly, RI 02891.
    Byles-Groton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Ann Lackey Stanton of Tyler Ave., Groton, passed into the presence of her Lord at Fairview, Odd Fellows Home, on Thursday morning, Feb. 26, 2009.
    Ann was born in Groton, on Dec. 14, 1925.
    In February 1950, Ann became the first police woman in the City of Groton. Serving 33 years, her love of children shown in the compassion she had whenever and wherever she saw a need. She also served in many ways in her church, Groton Heights Baptist.
    Ann is survived by her husband, William C. Stanton of Groton, formerly of Mystic; her aunts, Isabell Adams and Lucy Doyle; her stepchildren, Diane Cohen and her husband, Ken, and Gary Stanton and his wife, Lucy, and their children; as well as many caring cousins.
    Ann was predeceased by her first husband, Lyle Lackey; her mother, Viola Doyle; her aunts, Dorothy Weinberg, Elsie Noyes, and Alice Teuton; and two uncles, Howard Doyle and Fred Doyle.
    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Groton Heights Baptist Church, 72 Broad St., Groton. Private interment was held in Starr Burying Ground, Groton.
    Byles-Groton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
